Announcing theWashBoard.org

The Washington Scholarship Coalition announces the launch of theWashBoard.org, making it easier for Washington students to efficiently find and apply for relevant scholarships.

Free of cost for both students and providers, theWashBoard.org matches scholarship seekers with scholarship providers.  This user-friendly web-based clearinghouse allows students to search and apply for verified scholarships that are specific to their academic interests, college or university, or other criteria.  TheWashBoard.org is advertising and spam-free and a student’s personal information will never be sold.

There are currently over 50 scholarship providers from across the state registered on theWashBoard.org.  And new providers are added each day.  These providers have over $4 million in scholarship funds available and anticipate making over 1,700 awards for the 2010-2011 academic year.

 It is easy to get started on theWashBoard.org.  Here is what a student does:

    1)  Go to www.theWashBoard.org

    2)  Complete the student profile

    3)  Explore scholarships that match their profile

    4)  Apply and submit their application by the due date

For students who need assistance getting started, they can email help@theWashBoard.org.

During January and February, theWashBoard.org will partner with College Goal Sunday and the Northwest Education Loan Association (NELA) to host regional information sessions across the state.  More information can be found by visiting www.collegegoalsundaywa.org/event-locations/.   Students are encourage to attend.  Each student who attends and registers on theWashBoard.org will be automatically eligible for a NELA/College Goal Sunday scholarship!
